Resorts

THE BEST IN POWDER

We’ve been riding in the French Alps since the beginning and we still love them today! The range of resorts we work are all ones we have struck up great relationships with over the years. As a well respected and highly professional travel company we work very well alongside local councils and mayors in order to ensure we can run the biggest and best events for everyone! In recent years we’ve also expanded out to the likes of Switzerland, Italy and Andorra in the Pyrenees. These exciting new options cater perfectly to the right groups!

ALPE D’HUEZ

There’s a very good reason ADH has been the home of Above & Below for the last 2 seasons and is the spiritual home of BUSC. With it’s awesome race pistes and sick freestyle set ups, it really does cater for all types of rider. Not to mention the après is up there with the best. Featuring Folie Douce and numerous other sizeable venues. It’ll perfectly service piste bashers, beginners and powder hounds alike with a great range of slopes and terrain.

VAL THORENS

The only thing bigger than the name is the ski area. It’s massive. We’re convinced a week just isn’t enough time to see it all but we know many who have given it a good go! If you’re the kind that keeps the party going until last orders and get’s up for first lifts, this place may just claim you as its own. Whether you’re airing over the wide rollers from the top of the glacier or hooning it in to resort there’s plenty of opportunity to push yourself. With slopes that nudge up against the accommodation it makes for some of the easiest roll out of bed and get to it mornings. Unofficially we’d claim the record at 4 minutes from bed to chairlift.

LES 2 ALPES

Holding a very special place in many of our hearts, Les Deux Alpes has a lot to offer. It’s awesome selection of après and bars make the days roll in to evenings and the evenings roll in to the nights. It’s not unheard of to be found in Bresilien at 2am, board boots still on and goggles MIA. Trust us. Offering access direct from the resort to the largest skiable glacier in one lift, yes one, it’s definitely an easy one to explore. Jump on the Jandri Express and from there you can work your way up or down to a wide range of runs. Boasting snowparks on the glacier and mid way up the mountain, the park rats will be right at home. Even beginners can enjoy après unhindered as the Jandri gondola can take you down after too!

LES ARCS

This treeline paradise offers some of the most unreal panoramic views in the alps. Neatly positioned on the valley side of the mountain, it overlooks the valley town of Bourg St Maurice and from the L’arpette après venue you’ll spot Mont Blanc on a good day. Extending to the Paradiski list pass will get you access to La Plagne should you want to explore a little more. With 2 nightclubs, numerous bars, laser quest and arguably the most gangster bowling alley in the Alps you’ll never be short of stuff to do here. Not to mention the late night skiing that keeps lifts open till 8pm on given days around a 8 sq mile floodlit area. Les Arcs knows what’s up.

LAAX

Laax is a freestylers paradise, boasting 4 parks, yes, 4. A half pipe, rapid fast lift systems so you can lap with little delay, in the town there’s also a freetyle academy full of trampolines and foam pits to practice in the evening too.
But that’s not all Laax is good for, it’s also part of the largest ski area in Switzerland and has some of the best off-piste in the country!
In town you’ll find everything you need mere seconds apart from each other, cozy bars to fine dining… and the nightclub, well that’s beneath the accommodation!

TIGNES

A long lived favorite of many a group, Tignes has a lot to offer. With the main village of Val Claret marking the end of the road in to a valley that gives way to almost endless chairlifts, the skiable area is insane. Heading off in every direction you won’t know where to go first. With Le Lac sitting just across the lake from Val Claret, you’ve got even more lunch options and lifts to pick from including the snowboarders shrine Pallafour (or just P4 to the seasoned riders). Arrive here on a good snow week and you’ll have a sick time on the slopes. Arrive on a powder week and you’ll never want to leave. Trust us, a few in the office have tried whilst others have seasons under their belt there!

VAL D’ISERE

Three words. Straight. Up. Ballin. We all know Val d’Isere has the reputation for being an up market millionaires playground. It’s not until you get there that this really computes. Littered with bad ass private chalets and high end shops, it’s not hard to see why it attracts those with seriously big fun budgets. That being said, it’s not inaccessible! It’s the resort we ran our first ever group trip to back in 1994 and we’ve been more times than we’d care to count since. Boasting the most famous of the La Folie Douce après venues, when you’re looking to avoid champagne soaked ski jackets then Coco Rico nestled next to the main ski lifts out of town hosts some awesome après too. If you’re looking for a challenge, hit up the Olympique lift, hang a hard left and take on “Le Face”. It’s a pretty gnarly black run that comes right back down in to resort and basically the run you nail if you want to be seen to be nailing it.

PAS DE LA CASA

Affectionately dubbed “Pas Vegas” by many, it’s gained the title from the unique atmosphere that will take you to a completely different zone compared with your average French resort. Situated in the principality of Andorra, the Grandvalira stretches out across the Pyrenees and Pas sits at one end of it. With a more urban feel to the resort it’s self, the big buildings and presence of both McDonalds & Burger King make for a very different experience! Don’t be fooled though. Away from the bars and nightclubs run by seasonnaires that spend their summers in Ibiza, the slopes are banging. With plenty of rolling valleys you’ll be able to hit up treelines, cruise powder fields or get sendy in one of the numerous snow parks. Oh and we should probably mention it’s tax free…Yeah that makes a big difference on the wallet believe us!

Badass Facts

It’s tax-free. Winner.

As home to one of the bigger snow festivals you know this place can handle groups of all sizes.. even if it’s horse and cart access!
As part of the Portes du Soleil ski area there’s plenty of terrain to explore for all levels and apres is well taken care of by any of Avoriaz’s bars, but The Place and Wild Horse Saloon are particular highlights for us.
