17th – 14th December 2016

By June 1, 2017Resort Report
Week 1 of the season flew by as fast as it came and before we knew it, our first army of mountain going, party-prone, winter sport enthusiasts were on their way home. As is the way with resort life, as one group boards coaches in resort on a Friday evening, the next hord are doing the exact same on the UK to do the reverse journey! So with the teams finalising all their prep work and stealing away one quieter evening for some minor assemblence of rest, we got ready for Saturday arrivals number 2 of the season.
Once again it was another amazing week for our media teams across various resorts. With the dgtl Concepts guys having staff based out of Pas de la Casa, Val Thorens and Les Deux Alpes!

Val Thorens

Val Thorens played host to another instalment of our long standing “Takeover” series. First hosted in Tignes a few years back, we took the concept across to Val Thorens last year and have kept it there for a second year running. With all the amazing things it delivers as a resort, it’s not hard to see why! Despite some unusually high winds creating tough conditions mid week, the folk from Nussc – Newcastle University Ski and Snowboard Club, MMUFS – Manchester Metropolitan University Ski and…, Imperial Snowsports, Essex Snowsports and SGUL all made the very most of their time in resort.

Pas de la Casa

Week 2 in Pas de la Casa saw one group head back to the UK and 3 groups join us for an awesome week! Lying at one end of the Grandvalira ski area, the slopes certainly offer an expanse of opportunity both down in the tree line of the valleys and high above them. Famed also for sitting in the Tax-Free haven of Andorra, it’s rapidly grown in popularity among student groups over the last few years and establishing itself as a go to destination! Whilst the likes of Snowsportsmouth – University of Portsmouth Ski and… were making a triumphant return to this well know stomping ground, Loughborough Sno & Sutton Bonington Snow Sports were making fresh tracks in to terrain untrod by their former club members. Needless to say they revelled in the new surroundings!

Les Deux Alpes

Once Rise Festival is over, the resort of Les Deux Alpes doesn’t return to the quiet life of small family holidays from all over. Far from it in fact! The resort is renown for having an amazing character to it and atmosphere that maintains throughout the season. This is why the 17th of December saw many more student groups heading out to the resort following the end of their semester! We played host to the likes of KSBC , JUSST – John Moores University Ski and Snowboard Team, ICSM Snowsports and University of Bristol Snowsports Club | UBSC for their annual Race Trip.
